Two Masters of Horror

Dario Argento & Don Coscarelli
USA, 2005, 109 minutes

Roxie Cinema 2/11, 930p Buy

Although created for the Showtime cable network, these films deserve to be seen on a big screen with the smell of hot buttered popcorn wafting through the air, and the screams of the horrified audience reverberating through the rafters. Boo!

Dario Argento
USA, 2005, 57 minutes
US Theatrical Premiere

Based on the classic comic book by Bruce Jones and Bernie Wrightson, Jenifer is a disturbing tale with a horrific twist (and some really yucky stuff) that warns us all to be careful of what we bring home. Succubus schmuccubus. Stars Steven Weber (who adapted the screenplay) and directed by Italian horror maestro Dario (Suspiria) Argento.

Incident On and Off a Mountain Road

Don Coscarelli
USA, 2005, 52 minutes
US Theatrical Premiere

Coscarelli re-teams with author Joe R. Lansdale (Bubba Ho-Tep) to tell the tale of the seemingly defenseless Ellen who is pitted against Moonface, a deformed and demented serial killer. As the story cuts back and forth in time, we slowly discover that our heroine is not as helpless, nor as innocent as she initially seems. Watch for Phantasm's Tall Man, Angus Scrimm.
