Opening Night Gala Party
Following the screening of Asia Argento's The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things please join us at the Swedish American Hall right up the street from the Castro (above Cafe Du Nord) on February 3 for the Opening Night Gala. We've gone back to producing this party ourselves so you are in for a hell of a good time! The party starts at 9pm and will feature great DJs in two rooms, short films in a separate screening room, complimentary food and drink, special treats, special guests and a few surprises! Upgrade your tickets to the 5pm or 930pm Castro screenings to include the Opening Night Gala for an additional $6. Otherwise cover charge at the Swedish the night of the party is $10. This party is 21 & over.
We love films, and we also love a good party!
In addition to the hot Opening Night Gala Party at the Swedish, we have parties every night of the Festival! Here's where you can find a buncha intoxicated filmmakers, festival staff, volunteers and indie film fans during the Festival:
On Friday, Feb. 4 please join us for the debut of a new rock n' roll/industrial dance party at the Cat Club, 1190 Folsom at 8th. Every first Friday at the Cat is two clubs in one; The Church of Elvis (indie/glam/metal/punk/rockabilly) in the front room, Reactor 4 (industrial/ebm) in the back. The cover is $5 but anyone with a ticket stub or pass not only gets in free, but the first Sierra Nevada is on us! The Cat is 21 & over.
On Saturday, Feb. 5 join us for our Second Annual Big Lebowski Party at Photo Gourmet Studios, 2190 Folsom St at 18th. The party starts at 9pm and will feature ramp-of-death bowling, plenty of White Russians, raving nihlists, and too many people named Dude. Come dressed as your favorite Lebowski character! The cover is $5, free with any IndieFest stub or pass.
On Thursday Feb 10 your ticket stub gets you comped into the Make Out Room, 3225 22nd St at Mission. Our after party Friday, Feb. 11 will be at the hot new Mission bar/restaurant Medjool, 2524 Mission at 21st. The Saturday, Feb 12 after-party will be at the Elbo Room, 647 Valencia near 17th with legendary blues guitarist Walter Trout. Once again your ticket stub is your hook-up to avoid the cover charge!
Every other night (and most afternoons as well) the IndieFest visiting filmmakers and your fellow film lovers will be hanging out at the Official IndieFest Watering Hole, Delirium at 3139 16th Street, our favorite inner Mission dive bar and the host of our Closing Night/Alcohol Appreciation Party on Sunday, Feb. 13.
