Brooklyn duo One Ring Zero had bookish beginnings as the house-band for a
weekly literary event at offbeat NYC publishing company McSweeney’s (sibling
of 826 Valencia). Soon after, claviola-playing Joshua Camp and Michael Hearst
were scoring an off-Broadway play. Before long, they establish The Author Project,
which uses award-winning writers such as Dave Eggers, Jonathan Lethem, and
Margaret Atwood to pen new lyrics. With live performances, studio sessions
and interviews, As Smart As They Are explores the relationships between music
and literature—and the New York literary community that fostered the band. Preceded by:
